Traditional Turkey Dressing
- 16C. Dried Bread Cubes
- 2C. Chopped Celery
- 2C. Chopped Yellow Onion
- 4Tbsp Poultry Seasoning
- ½tsp Sea Salt
- ½tsp Black Pepper
- 3C. Chicken or Turkey Broth
- 1Stick Butter
Instructions
Place the bread, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bag and shake to coat the dried bread.
Optional Additions
Turkey Sausage
Turkey Neck Meat, Hearts, and Gizzards
Nuts (Pine, Walnut, Pecan)
Dried Fruit (Raisins, Apricot, Date)
If adding an optional meat sauté it in the pan or dutch oven first and remove it to sauté the vegetables. Let the vegetables deglaze the flavor from the pan or dutch oven.
Sauté the onions and celery in the stick of butter. In a pan but ideally in a large dutch oven.
Mix together the sautéd vegetables and the dried bread in the dutch oven. Pour the broth all over the bread equally.
Bake 350°F for 15-25minutes or until the mixture is hot and moist.
